OLEG FATEEV – SIMONE SOU
June 2008. Ethel String Quartet, from NY, brought TRUCKSTOP to Tilburg ,
an itinerant project that connects musicians from different countries with the
purpose of experience music together to create a complete new repertoire.
Simone and Oleg were chosen to be part of it as musicians and composers.
During 20 days the formed group had intense rehearsals, played one week in
Paradox a jazz club in Tilburg and two days in Festival Mundial. The Project
went so well that it continued after this first meeting.
September 2009. Simone in São Paulo tried to repeat the Project in Brazil. By
that time it was only possible to bring Oleg to play with brazilian musicians
So he came to join Orquestra Mundana, lead by composer acoustic
guitar player Carlinhos Antunes, where Simone was on drums. The group
played in Sampa Jazz Festival in São Paulo, in TV musical program from Sesc
Instrumental, in Campinas Music University country side of SP, where Oleg
also gave workshop, and Olinda Jazz Festival in Pernambuco.
October 2009. Oleg and Simone decided to keep playing, so they did their first
duo concert in Paradox Tilburg , where everything began. Together, they
developed an unique combination between bayan and percussion, balkan and
brazilian styles, mixing sentimental melodies and vigourous rhythms, a blend
of two distinct cultures that sounds like the same one. They became really
curious about each others musicallity and possibilities , looking for new
atmospheres and finding a musical enviroment that they where creating ,
unknown, but familiar and exciting. Their own compositions were coming
in a very inspiry way.
May 2010. Oleg and Simone arranged their first tour in Brazil. São Paulo,
Rio Grande do Sul, Paraná, Ceará, were the first states they played. Later in
July, they went also to Paraiba and São Paulo again.

new Project, Balkan Brazil. A meeting of musicians that never played
together before, to produce inedit material between the two cultures. After
two years, they got back to play the Duo in Paradox, showing their new
compositions in an intense and emocional concert. They also began their
small tour in some cities in Holland.
May 2011. Oleg got back to Brazil to do his first Solo concert in Curitiba
State of Paraná. He also was part of Simone CD premiere concert in São
Paulo, playing as special guest with her band. They began recordings in
São Paulo of their Duo CD.

with a new project , 6 Spoons One Kitchen , an ethno jazz band mixing
musicians of different countries. They played in two big World Music
